Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY; born 17 March 1998) also known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian performer, singer music producer, and songwriter. The early work of her has been described as going into "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. She has also incorporated elements from electronic music, hip-hop, and rock. The lyrics of her songs often address science fiction and feminist themes. Five studio albums were published by her. Grimes came from Vancouver before moving to Montreal. The singer began her independent career in the latter part of the decade. In 2010, she debuted two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Following her contracting with 4AD the band gained the charts with Visions the third studio album. Visions contains the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion" that was selected for nominations to the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, was released in 2015. Numerous publications praised it as the top album. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes, who is also an actor as well as a judge for Alter Ego's music contests, had a role as vocalist as part of Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 20th of January, 2020.
